Two roads diverged in a wood, and I...I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
If you are like me, you love to explore new places! When my family picks a destination to visit, I am always trying to find new or interesting places or attractions to explore. I have Trip Advisor to thank for most of the places we visit, but every once in a while, I will get a suggestion from a friend, a patron at the library, or a family member.
I am a huge fan of off-the-beaten-path kinds of places and the hidden gems that are always hiding in plain sight. As the quote above says "I take the road less traveled by" and I always find it pays off. I discover something I never would have if I just visit the "touristy places." Most of the places I like to vist are free; however, some have minimal fees. Although, I have to say, I am all about FREE!
I am starting this section of my blog to write about these places and share them with all of you. Most are going to be right here in Louisiana, because I plan to start taking day trips to different places. I am learning that the state is full of little treasures worthy of visting.
I hope you enjoy reading these posts as much as I enjoy visiting the places. I will try to include as many pictures as possible and fee(s) if any are involved. I will also include links to websites if avaiable.
If you have visited any of the places I will write about, let me know in the comments of each post what was your favorite part of the visit. If you haven't visited them, let me know if it's a place you would like to visit. Let's start a conversation. After all, we get all our information in the South from word of mouth or Facebook. Share these posts with your friends and let me know what you think.
Stay tuned for the first post and let's all start traveling!!
